Communicable Disease

Communicable Disease Reporting protects your health and the Communities health from the threats of uncontrolled infectious disease and disease outbreaks. Such outbreaks may be due to food or water supply contamination and/or bacterial or viral occurrence of disease.

Communicable Disease Nurses, in conjunction with Health Care Providers, uses a surveillance system to quickly identify unusual diseases or an unusual number of cases of a particular disease. Proper control measures are then implemented.

Communicable Disease Nurses also ensures that individuals with a Tuberculosis infection or Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD) are properly diagnosed. Free medications for treatment of STDs or Tuberculosis are provided.
