2004 Stoddard County Relay for Life

Even though it was a first effort, Stoddard County's 2004 inaugural Relay For Life was a stupendous success.  The event raised over $83,000.  Our goal was $30,000.

Of the money that came in, the top individual fundraiser was Karen Pippins, who brought in 1,495. Second place went to Harold Lemons, with $1,110 while third place belonged to Wendy Ott and her $800.90.

Team top money-raising honors went to Hopewell Baptist Church for $4,552.25, followed by Second General Baptist Church with $4,522.05 and First Baptist Church with $3,076.45. St. Joe Baptist Church had two teams, whose combined total $1,912 topped all multi-team organizations.

The top corporate team in terms of money raised was Missouri Southern Healthcare, with $3,162.90 Second place went to the Delta News-Citizen with $3,056.

The money raised goes into cancer research, development of treatments and funding of various types of prosthetic items for cancer patients. In addition, some of the money helps fund treatment and other support activities of patients unable to afford the often high costs of such treatment and activities.

Thanks to all of our sponsors for their support and efforts in assuring a great Relay for Life of Stoddard County.
